A CSA Designer is needed for a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, whose areas of business include pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare products, agricultural chemicals, seeds and biotechnology products in the Kansas City, MO area. A CSA Designer develops and supports civil, structural, and architectural designs for projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating with various engineering disciplines to create and maintain construction documents and drawings.

responsibilities:
- Evaluate and design structural steel capable of supporting equipment.
- Provide calculated lifting assistance for vessels, equipment, manways, etc., including monorails and lugs.
- Create and assemble CSA design packages and distribute them to engineering and design groups (internal and external) for approval as required.
- Verify field conditions and design capabilities.
- Create construction documents in AutoCAD and leverage 3D modeling in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Design foundations, steel supports, piping supports, or structures.
- Evaluate applicable underground drawings for interference and execute the company's excavation permitting process.
- strong understanding of concrete and rebar details.
- strong comprehension of structural design, lifting and support capacities, and regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
- Fieldwork experience in an active chemical plant or processing industry, including gathering field dimensions, confirming survey data, and verifying structural installation details.
- Team social skills to work with other disciplines and plant personnel.
- Ability to customize AutoCAD components is a bonus.
- Experience with AutoCAD Vault (ProjectWise also adequate).
- Experience with Bluebeam, Leica software, and BIM360.
- strong 3D modeling experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of college or
- A High school diploma with 5 years of CSA design experience.
