Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Design Engineer to oversee the development of detailed electrical distribution system designs for complex process plant construction projects. In this role, you will ensure designs meet safety, quality, and compliance standards while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success. responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee detailed electrical distribution system drawings and layouts for process plants.
- Review and approve design packages for safety, quality, and code compliance.
- Respond promptly and accurately to construction RFIs.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to perform design activities.
- Review vendor drawings for compliance with specifications and project requirements.
- Develop technical bid tabulations for major electrical equipment selection.
- Work in a multi-discipline environment to ensure on-time project completion with accurate documentation.
- Manage global collaboration with regional offices in India, Munich, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico.
- Assist in project scheduling and manpower planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Familar with electrical systems design tools such as Siemens COMOS, Bentley Autoplant, SmartPlant, AutoCad or other industry CAD systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in electrical design.
- Expertise in power distribution (15kV, 5kV, 480V & 120V), cable tray design, grounding, wire and conduit sizing, heat tracing, and lighting & utilities.
- Knowledge of NEC codes, industrial standards, and best practices.
- Experience with air separation plants is a plus.
- Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and vendor drawings.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Siemens COMOS, Bentley AutoPlant, SmartPlant, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for project and field support.
