In this role you will provide budgetary, financial, accounting support to the team members who lead construction project design and execution.
1 year contract with possible extension/fulltime hire if budget allows!!

Required:
- 5+ minimum experience in construction financial management
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering
- Understanding principles and practices of construction contract administration and have experience working in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry
- experience with procurement, contract management and purchase management specific to the AEC industry
- knowledge of construction industry-specific regulations and compliance standards (e.g., prevailing wages, union contracts, etc.
- knowledge of construction accounting practices, job costing
-Project engineering experience, in AEC industry
-Experience with job costing software specific to the construction industry such as Procore, Viewpoint, Sage 100/300, etc
-Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) certification or similar

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project team to develop budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with cost estimates while identifying potential savings or overruns.
- Partner with project managers to review and process progress billings, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to meet billing milestones.
- Examine contracts and invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms, prevailing wage regulations, and other construction-specific requirements.
- Conduct in-depth cost analysis for active and completed projects, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective measures.
- Assist in monthly forecasting and project status reporting, including analyzing cost control documents, financial accruals, and actual expenditures.
- Support the preparation of monthly cost control and project status reports, creating dashboard-style summaries for leadership review.
- Maintain well-organized and accurate financial records related to construction projects to facilitate audits, reviews, and internal controls.
- Conduct annual mock audits of invoices and contract compliance to ensure audit readiness.
- Coordinate with project management, procurement, and finance teams to support project-related accounting functions and ensure smooth execution.
- Provide ongoing feedback and process improvement recommendations to team leaders based on operational insights.
- Assist in staff training and contribute to the development of training plans for team members.
