responsibilities:
- Lead engineering staff in designing water, wastewater, recycled water, biosolid, and biogas plants and pump stations.
- Independently complete design elements, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), plant hydraulic profiles, equipment/valve/piping lists, and civil and process/mechanical details.
- Perform calculations for treatment process requirements and modeling to determine equipment specifications.
- Conduct and complete engineering feasibility studies (EFS), engineering design reports (EDR), preliminary design reports (PDR), and both preliminary and final designs.
- Provide cost estimates for engineering design, equipment procurement, installation/construction, startup/commissioning, and operation & maintenance services.
- Manage vendors, schedules, and budgets for ongoing projects.
- Attend client meetings, leading and presenting technical portions to large audiences of peers and client personnel.
- Provide leadership and team guidance for Water/Wastewater projects under the supervision of the Principal Manager.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Client Managers to develop and deliver projects for clients.
- Supervise Water/Wastewater section staff engineers, including time/expense approvals, utilization monitoring, workload planning, and annual performance reviews.
- Manage the financial aspects of Water/Wastewater projects in coordination with Project Managers, ensuring work is completed within budget and schedule.
- Work closely with project engineers, staff engineers, engineer associates, and CAD professionals to prepare engineering reports, design drawings, cost estimates, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions and support business development efforts.
- Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on internal and external deliverables.
- Identify and provide staff training based on strategic plans and objectives.
- Offer technical knowledge and support on engineering standards, specifications, best practices, QA/QC procedures, and project management tools.
- Develop and review project scope and fee proposals.
