A Hardware Engineer is needed for a technology company that designs and manufactures connectors and sensors for several industries, such as automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, and more, in the Middletown, PA area. This role designs, simulates, and validates high-speed hardware solutions for cable assemblies, ensuring optimal electrical performance from concept to manufacturing while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert in high-speed data, electronics design, simulation, and validation.
- Establish electrical design performance and functional requirements for new products.
- Lead product development of high-speed cable assemblies from conception to manufacturing.
- Handle component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, and product validation testing.
- Create actionable recommendations based on design reviews and simulation results.
- Make data-driven decisions regarding product functionality and improvements.
- Expertise in electronic design and analysis tools (Altium PCB, ADS, Ansys Designer, Ansys HFSS).
- Experience with cable/cable assembly designs (high-speed twin-ax cables, DAC cables, active copper cables).
- Proficiency with high-speed test equipment (DSO, VNA, BERT, TDR, pattern generators, power supplies).
- Knowledge of signal conditioning techniques (equalization, amplification, FIRs, CTLEs).
- Experience in component selection, schematic capture, PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.
- strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior.
- strong analytical skills for interpreting simulation and lab data to identify and resolve issues.
- Experience in project leadership across design, development, and manufacturing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in high-speed hardware engineering.
