A Buyer in the Greenwood, SC area is needed for a multinational power management company. This role is responsible for procuring materials and services to support plant production, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring material quality, optimizing inventory, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve cost and efficiency goals.

responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of supplier product demands and production scheduling.
- Source and select new and alternate suppliers to meet production needs.
- Establish and maintain vendor and supplier relationships.
- Prepare and communicate product specifications for vendor bidding.
- Negotiate and award purchase orders/contracts based on cost, quality, and delivery.
- Develop and manage strategic supplier alliances.
- Support facility design engineers with major manufacturing projects.
- Assist in cost reduction programs in collaboration with corporate commodity managers.
- Participate in APQP/PPAP supplier quality qualification processes.
- Support cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory.
- Knowledge of materials planning systems, production planning, inventory control, stockroom operations, and Kanban.
- Understanding of computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques, and general manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prints.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of procurement experience.
