A Packaging Engineer is needed for a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, whose areas of business include pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare products, agricultural chemicals, seeds and biotechnology products in the Indianola, PA area. This role focuses on designing, developing, and testing innovative sterile disposable packaging for radiology medical devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards, sustainability, and customer-centric solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Lead and support the design, development, and implementation of new sterile disposable (SD) packaging for radiology and cardiovascular medical devices.
- Participate in product ideation, generating innovative and sustainable packaging solutions based on customer needs.
- Utilize CAE tools (CAD, FEA, Moldflow, CFD) to develop and analyze packaging designs.
- Conduct or oversee testing in an R&D lab to verify concept packaging designs.
- Apply knowledge of packaging materials, ISO/ASTM standards, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain design history file documentation, including technical assessments, test protocols, and reports.
- Create and modify 3D CAD packaging designs using software such as Pro Engineer and CREO.
- Use 3D printing for prototyping and evaluation as needed.
- Incorporate cost-driven design thinking, customer-centric solutions, and product differentiation into packaging strategies.
- Familiarity with disposable product usage, and engineering design to influence packaging
- Basic familiarity with medical device regulated design control process.
- Stakeholders analysis skills and ability to work with internal and external customers for product evaluation will be desired.
- Engineering experience in new product development or product engineering, production engineering knowhow about various manufacturing engineering with Design for Manufacturing solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, creative thinker and interpersonal communication.
- B.S and 2+ years of proven experience in Mechanical, Packaging Engineering or related field.
- M.S degree preferred.
