A Facilities Mechanical Engineering Group Manager is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Boise, ID area. This role will lead and manage mechanical engineering projects for manufacturing facilities, overseeing the design, installation, and integration of complex facility infrastructure systems while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating with clients.

responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical engineering projects for manufacturing facilities, ensuring efficient design and construction of facility infrastructure systems.
- Collaborate with client owners, researchers, and equipment manufacturers to establish design requirements and installation specifications.
- Design and oversee piping and ducting systems for heating, cooling, exhaust, process chemicals, and gases in complex industrial facilities.
- Retrofit existing building systems to support new tool installations, including calculations, equipment sizing, and specifications.
- Provide technical training, perform quality checks on designs, and assist with complex design challenges.
- Support construction phases, including contractor coordination and on-site assistance.
- Act as the mechanical representative on multi-discipline design teams.
- Hire, train, and manage engineering staff, including recruitment, onboarding, salary negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee career development, conflict resolution, and personnel retention strategies.
- Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks software.

- 12+ years of experience in mechanical facilities engineering (HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, etc.).
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering design teams and personnel development.
- Two (2) years field experience.
