A Drafter/Designer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Rockford , IL area. The Drafter/Designer is responsible for creating, modifying, and managing CAD models and assembly drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ProE, ensuring accurate documentation and integration into Teamcenter while coordinating with engineers and suppliers.

responsibilities:
- Perform drafting and design of assembly drawings based on layouts, sketches, and blueprints.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) applications such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ProE.
- Communicate EP numbers to suppliers and verify proper application.
- Manage supplier equipment drawing repository and updates for 12 months post-production.
- Classify files and document jurisdiction and classification for each drawing.
- Oversee the uploading of models and CAD files into Teamcenter.
- Process and implement changes to equipment drawings in Teamcenter.
- Update drawing databases as required.
- Create new models and assembly drawings for product testing configurations.
- Convert hand drawings to electronic format.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProE, and Teamcenter.
- strong understanding of mechanical and electrical CAD models and drawings.
- Experience in supplier coordination and documentation management.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in drafting and design.
