A Senior Mechanical Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Wilsonville, OR area. This role is responsible for analyzing, redesigning, and ensuring compliance of Head-Up Guidance Systems cast aluminum chassis components in a regulated avionics environment, with a focus on GD&T, tolerance analysis, and vendor non-conformances.

responsibilities:
- Conduct technical analysis of complex cast aluminum parts.
- Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Analyze investment casting measurement data and assess deviations from mechanical models.
- Ensure compliance with quality management system guidelines.
- Work closely with project engineers to coordinate assignments and activities.
- Perform technical reviews of supplier hardware to ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
- Present project status and findings in team meetings.
- Conduct tolerance analysis to ensure proper fit, form, and function of components.
- Expertise in GD&T and ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
- Experience with tightly toleranced investment castings.
- Background in quality-controlled and regulated environments.
- strong tolerance analysis skills.
- Bachelor of science in mechanical engineering or equivalent STEM degree with applicable experience.
- Six or more years of engineering design experience.
