A Mechanical System-Fluid Power Control SME is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Everett, WA area. The Mechanical System - Fluid Power Control Subject Matter Expert provides technical oversight, leadership, and mentorship for new product development and sustaining projects in aircraft water and waste systems, ensuring compliance, feasibility, and successful implementation through design expertise, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Resolve design conflicts, material selection challenges, and coordination issues.
- Provide technical leadership to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and engineers.
- Collaborate with other engineering units to ensure smooth project execution.
- Define project objectives and contribute to comprehensive project designs.
- Review and approve design data at various technical maturity phases.
- Maintain and update design documentation.
- Generate reports, artifacts, and design reviews to ensure compliance.
- Participate in professional organizations to stay updated on technical innovations.
- Support Non Advocate Reviews (NAR) for all programs.
- Hands-on experience with assembly and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret and create equipment specifications.
- Proficiency in potable water and waste aerospace design practices.
- Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.5, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT).
- Experience in tolerance stack-ups, fits, and clearances.
- Familiarity with aircraft lavatory mechanical systems.
- Ability to develop qualification documents (test plans, procedures, reports).
- Knowledge of RTCA DO-160 qualification requirements.
- Extensive experience with Chapter 38 aircraft water/waste systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, fuel, pneumatics, oxygen, cryogenic, and marine systems.
- Experience with electro-mechanical system development and integration.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX CAD software, Teamcenter PLM, and PCB layout tools.
- 3D modeling experience with NX, CATIA, or equivalent software.
- Experience with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
- Familiarity with electronic discrete and surface mount components.
- Experience in 3D routing of water and air hoses.
- Working knowledge of aerospace materials, processes, and finishes.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- With 10+ years of relevant experience.
