responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and optimize parylene CVD deposition systems to ensure accurate coating thickness and uniformity across diverse substrates.
- Oversee the deposition of Parylene polymers (N, C, D), ensuring the application meets precise specifications and performance criteria.
- Develop and refine deposition parameters such as temperature, pressure, time, and precursor flow rates to achieve desired coating properties (uniformity, adhesion, dielectric strength).
- Perform testing to assess coating quality, including uniformity, surface finish, and adhesion (using techniques like SEM, optical microscopy, peel testing).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deposition rates, film stress, or material inconsistencies to enhance process efficiency and minimize defects.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques (AFM, XPS, FTIR) to characterize coated components and verify thin-film analysis and chemical composition.
- Conduct adhesion testing (ASTM D3359), dielectric testing, and thermal cycling assessments to ensure reliability for high-performance applications.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to evaluate new parylene formulations and alternative coating materials for specialized applications.
- Provide insights on how various substrate materials (metals, polymers, ceramics) impact coating quality, adhesion, and performance.
- Maintain detailed records of coating parameters, testing results, and any changes to the process for traceability and quality control.
- Prepare technical reports on process performance, material analysis, troubleshooting outcomes, and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of parylene deposition systems to ensure consistent and accurate performance.
- Address equipment malfunctions (gas flow, deposition chamber, heaters) to minimize downtime and improve overall system efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, ISO 14644) for medical devices, aerospace, and electronics.
- Conduct audits, review process logs, and align with quality assurance protocols to maintain certification for cleanroom environments.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for coating failures or non-conformance.
- Work closely with product development and manufacturing teams to integrate parylene coatings into new product designs and ensure seamless scaling for mass production.
- Assist in optimizing parylene coating processes to meet production demands while maintaining high consistency and efficiency.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Specialized training in parylene coating technologies or thin-film deposition is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with parylene coating processes, particularly in CVD systems.
- Expertise in parylene coating applications within high-precision industries like electronics, medical devices, or aerospace is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in parylene deposition parameters, troubleshooting, and familiarity with Parylene N, C, and D.
- Experience with surface preparation techniques (plasma treatment, cleaning) and characterization tools (SEM, AFM, XPS, FTIR).
- Familiarity with quality control measures and process monitoring systems to ensure coating consistency and performance.
- strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
- Proficient in process analysis, optimization, and improving operational efficiency.

- Familiarity with other thin-film deposition methods (e.g., ALD, PVD).
- Knowledge of environmental test standards (thermal cycling, humidity testing, voltage breakdown).
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other quality management systems.
