A Hardware Design Engineer is needed for an American multinational technology company that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports, and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services in the Mountain View, CA area. The Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for the validation, characterization, and debugging of memory subsystems, leveraging expertise in system architecture, electrical characterization, software, and hardware testing to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

responsibilities:
- Analyze information to determine plan layout for computing systems and peripheral modifications.
- Assemble and modify existing equipment to meet specialized needs.
- Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working or theoretical models (including computer simulations).
- Evaluate hardware configurations considering reporting formats, cost constraints, and security restrictions.
- Monitor equipment functionality and performance, making modifications as needed for specification compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture, performance, power, electrical, and software related to HBM/DDR subsystems in server applications.
- Experience with Memory patterns and stress generator tools.
- Silicon debug experience for logic, software, and physical issues.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for debugging, scripting, and automation.
- strong ability to triage issues and develop test environments and tools.
- Ability to analyze system performance and debug issues efficiently.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
- 8+ years of experience in a relevant field.
