A Coolant Transfer Design & Release Engineer is needed for a multinational manufacturing company that produces and distributes trucks, buses and construction equipment, as well as marine and industrial drive systems in the Greensboro, NC area. The Coolant Transfer Engineer is responsible for the full design, development, and optimization of coolant transfer systems for thermal management in automotive applications, ensuring efficiency, quality, and integration with vehicle systems through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Full design ownership of coolant transfer system from concept to production.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for quality, cost, and mass reduction.
- Collaborate with Design groups and Application centers to develop optimized coolant distribution routing.
- Ensure thermal system balance and efficiency for heat exchangers and other coolant-dependent components.
- Deliver project activities and milestones on time and within budget.
- Solve design challenges and determine best validation methods.
- Document best practices and develop knowledge-sharing initiatives for design improvements.
- Utilize analytical or basic simulation tools to manage design tasks.
- strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Expertise in CAD design (PTC CREO) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with design documentation and product data management.
- Ability to read, interpret, and generate complex engineering documents, including technical specifications for testing and validation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
- At least 3 years of experience in thermal systems engineering, preferably in EV automotive or related hardware design & release.
