Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Raleigh, NC for a leading industrial manufacturer. This role is responsible to plan and direct the activities of the division purchases of chemical raw materials, supplies, equipment, or services.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, supply chain management, business or other related discipline
- Must have at leasy five (5) years of strategic purchasing/sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment (Chemical or Automotive experience is preferred)
- Must have negotiating skills
- Purchasing contract knowledge
- Ability to lead a sourcing team through purchasing strategies

responsibilities:
- Manages the direction and daily activities of the procurement of raw materials, parts, equipment and operating supplies
- Identifies chemical raw material requirements from production specifications, operational schedules, and engineering quality requirements
- Determines the most cost efficient and reliable materials needed for the manufacturing process.
- Establishes preferred supplier selection criteria based on supplier evaluations of price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance
- Negotiates with suppliers in response to general performance, material requirements, or cost
- Works with suppliers to develop and manage continuous improvement programs
