A Drafting/CAD Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Concord, NC (hybrid) area. A Drafting Technician creates, revises, and manages 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with company standards while supporting engineering teams in a hybrid work environment.

responsibilities:
- Assist the drafting lead in completing engineering/development drawing sets before system release.
- Create, revise, and store electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company drafting standards (detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly drawings).
- Convert hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings.
- Correct redlined models and drawings as directed by drafting lead or engineering teams.
- Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models.
- Collect data from engineering teams and incorporate information into appropriate drawings.
- Gather measurements and information from the production floor to update drawings.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
- Familiarity with ASME/ANSI drafting standards.
- General Windows-based computer skills.
- Ability to follow company drafting standards and guidelines.
- strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree.
- A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree.
- Drafting Certificate/Certification.
- Candidates without a degree must demonstrate 2+ years of relevant experience in Drafting/CAD and Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting.
