Transmission Line Engineer opportunity with a client located North of the Tampa, FL area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to power transmission projects, including renewable energy interconnections and grid modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLS-CADD (minimum of 2 years of professional experience) and a passion for high-voltage transmission line design. Candidates must possess relevant industry experience beyond coursework. This position provides technical support, project leadership, and design expertise to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering solutions. Salary will be commensurate with experience. responsibilities:
- Design and analyze high-voltage transmission lines (69kV and above) using PLS-CADD and related software.
- Develop detailed drawings, bills of materials, and specifications to support project execution.
- Collaborate with internal teams, utilities, and clients to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for engineering challenges.
- Participate in site visits to assess design feasibility, construction challenges, and quality control.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transmission line design OR a relevant industry experience combined with an internship with a utility or power industry client.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD for transmission line design (classroom experience alone is not sufficient).
- Working knowledge of NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other relevant industry standards.
