Large utility based in Jackson, MI is looking for a Design Technician. This position is responsible for developing the Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) drawings used to complete infrastructure improvement projects involving the installation or modification of electrical systems, communications systems and process measurement devices at natural gas regulation and associated pipeline facilities. responsibilities:
- Develop CAD drawings for infrastructure improvement projects related to electrical systems, communication systems, and process measurement devices in natural gas regulation and pipeline facilities.
- Create 3D designs as required by the discipline.
- Serve as the sole designer on projects covering both mechanical and electrical disciplines when necessary.
- Assist in developing support details and information documents for engineering activities and projects.
- Support material procurement and contribute to the development of design standards.
- Ensure designs are safe, ergonomic, and practical for operational and construction teams.
- CAD Design using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Drafting and Technical Drawing expertise.
- Electrical and Mechanical Design knowledge.
- 3D Modeling (as applicable).
- Communication Skills to effectively convey designs.
- Attention to Detail for clear and precise drawings.
- Understanding of Safety and Ergonomics in design.
