Metallographer needed for $2B state-of-the-art aluminum mill. We are seeking a self-motivated, highly skilled metallurgist with a technical background metallography. Aluminum experience is a huge plus, ISO/IEC 17025 experience is a must. We offer full relocation, lucrative compensation, profit sharing, and excellent benefits. responsibilities:
- Material preparation and inspection
- Metallographic sample preparation, inspection and characterization
- Calibration, verification and operation of lab equipment and production floor
- Ensure quality data from in-process samples and finished products
- Maintain accurate records, and reporting deviations or non-conformities
- Support ISO/IEC 17025, as well as additional customer testing compliance requirements
- Coordinate testing workflow to ensure prompt sample turnaround times
- Coordinate with department metallurgists in performing testing for trials
