Growing manufacturer in Houston is seeking a Production Control Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar and excellent ERP systems knowledge. At least 3 years of manufacturing experience in production planning and scheduling is required. Epicor experience a plus. Excellent benefits!

responsibilities:
- Lead teams involved in master scheduling, forecasting capacity vs. demand, production planning, and project planning to meet on time delivery goals.
- Execute functions including demand planning, production planning, ensuring lowest possible cost while maintaining goods are delivered on time including: lean management, developing production value streams, Gemba boards, organizing work order management, managing KPI metrics and leading Kaizens.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and approve release of production orders to manufacturing
- Provide input to management; reschedule and interface with customer program management, master scheduling, customers and operations for scheduling
- Interface with the Engineering team to ensure timing of engineering releases support the master production schedule
- Manage outsourcing of machine shop and fabrication work
- Utilize ERP software and supporting worksheets that support production planning, capacity planning, and operational management
- Develop and customize continuous improvement methods to effectively implement lean manufacturing
- Analyze customer demand information, forecasts and develop a master schedule
- Maintain the production schedule- Master Scheduling
- Drive improvements to the production schedule (manage by job, by sub, by part)
- Oversee each job on the floor, verify department commitment dates are being met
- Build and maintain project Gantt Charts for all major projects
- Execute capacity planning - understanding actual compared to scheduled hours, manpower, hours of operation, by department, by month, communicated and distributed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar
- 3-5 years of experience in a lead planning role in manufacturing
- ERP/MRP experience; Epicor preferred
- Ability to maintain the production schedule/ Master Scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent communication skills and logical thinking
- Experience with MS Office required; MS Project a plus
