A Validation Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. The Validation Engineer ensures the reliability and compliance of electric induction motors, generators, and resistor grids by leading validation planning, risk assessments, and verification testing, while collaborating with design teams to establish validation excellence in electrification projects.

responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments and validation planning for multiple NPI programs.
- Utilize FMEA-based planning, Proactive Reliability, and PPRD to ensure robust component/system validation.
- Establish validation excellence in power electronics and motors.
- Validate electric induction motors, generators, and resistor grids.
- Lead Simulation and Test Collaboration Workshops (STCW) for early-stage validation planning.
- Assess and plan work to mitigate risk in New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
- Communicate progress in Gateway Reviews and System Readiness Summaries.
- Work within a team of 80+ engineers and technologists.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
- Experience with electric drive systems and components (focus on induction motors, generators, and resistor grids).
- Proficiency in structured FMEA & DVP&R processes.
- Familiarity with NPI issue resolution processes.
