A Principal Systems Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Everett, WA area. This role will lead the development, integration, and verification of complex systems by collaborating across teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovative solutions in aerospace and military programs.

responsibilities:
- Interpret and translate requirements into effective system designs.
- Develop innovative solutions that push technological boundaries.
- Work across functional teams to develop compliance methods, qualification plans, and test procedures.
- Decompose customer specifications and generate verification criteria and plans.
- Lead technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analysis, and effectiveness assessments.
- Guide and manage a team of systems engineers on large programs.
- Gain hands-on experience with industry-specific tools and technologies.
- Exposure to cutting-edge advancements in aerospace and military programs.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and network with industry experts.
- Experience with ARP-4754 (Guidelines for Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems).
- Knowledge of DO-178 (Software Considerations in Airborne Systems) and DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware).
- Preferred experience with military programs, ARP-4761 (System Safety), and commercial aerospace.
- Ability to lead and manage a team of systems engineers on large-scale programs.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of experience, or
- An advanced degree with 5+ years, or 12+ years without a degree.
