A Mechanical Designer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Burnsville, MN area. This role involves designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting mechanical components for aerospace test equipment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and applying expertise in mechanical engineering, CAD tools, and fabrication processes to develop innovative solutions.

responsibilities:
- Develop designs and create/modify documentation.
- Support production with mechanical analysis and troubleshooting.
- Work in a cross-functional team to solve production and field-testing problems.
- Design test fixtures, cables, and interconnects with related documentation.
- Plan and manage tasks effectively.
- Facilitate documentation and drawings from ideation to release.
- Reverse-engineer existing fixturing for improvements.
- Build, test, and verify prototypes.
- Develop complex mechanical assemblies for manufacturing test equipment.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, NX Designer, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
- strong mechanical engineering design and analysis skills.
- Ability to translate requirements into physical design constraints.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 3+ years of experience or
- Master's degree with 1+ year of experience or
- 7+ years of experience without a degree.
