A Controls Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Tucson, AZ area. This role provides technical leadership in machine controls, software, and testing, driving collaboration across teams to optimize validation plans and reduce redundant testing for autonomous and base machine programs.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with L6-L8 teams to understand configuration variations.
- Develop strategic test plans to minimize redundant testing across multiple machines.
- Analyze current TPG testing/tuning activities and define clear VPD, SIL, and HIL requirements.
- Aim to reduce/eliminate TPG testing/tuning for ongoing and future programs.
- Participate in validation workshops for AHS and base machine programs.
- Provide data collection requirements for model correlation.
- Works with a team of three members.
- Engages with multiple business units and internal teams.
- Previous experience with CAT (Caterpillar) machines.
- Expertise in machine controls, software, testing, and simulation methods.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience.
