Civil and Structural Designers needed at a large Engineering firm in Chesapeake VA. Ideal Candidates will have at least 6 years of design experience in either the civil or structural space with an emphasis on 3D Design. Waterfront knoweldge is a plus.

responsibilities:
- Lead various civil project designs, including site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, traffic control, airports, and facility design.
- Lead drawing production, including problem analysis, design layout, and calculations for non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
- Use prescribed methods and standard techniques for assignments, including drawing sequence, presentation, system component sizing, and refining rough sketches.
- Lead the quality review of designs, sketches, and mark-ups on ongoing projects.
- Present reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data for design planning.
- Interpret design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Lead design drawings within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Perform quality review of volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and upland site grading.
- Incorporate and approve schedules, budgets, and project criteria into civil design and layouts for financial goals.
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical manner.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff members.
- Participate in marketing and client development meetings.
- Oversee the civil design QA/QC process.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
