A Test Technician is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Phoenix, AZ area. A Test Technician performs functional testing of products, monitors and documents test results, maintains and services test equipment, ensures compliance with quality and safety standards, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet production schedules and continuous improvement goals.

responsibilities:
- Perform functional testing according to pre-established procedures.
- Monitor tests through completion and record data.
- Service test equipment as required.
- Document acceptance or failure results accurately.
- Use hand/machine tools and electronic/manual test equipment proficiently.
- Load and unload electronic equipment in test beds properly.
- Comply with quality systems and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Meet internal and external customer deadlines as determined by the team.
- Acquire necessary skills, knowledge, and certifications as required.
- Follow safety protocols and hazardous waste disposal programs.
- Adhere to production schedules and quality requirements.
- Understand the end use of manufactured products to ensure proper testing.
- Use computer tools such as SAP and follow work instructions accurately.
- Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
- Train others for technical tasks as needed.
- Interface with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve problems related to business issues.
- Participate in waste minimization efforts and audits.
- Request tools and supplies in accordance with project requirements as needed.
- Use and knowledge of thermal chambers and vibratory tables required.
- Troubleshooting skills to component level preferred but not required.
