A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. A Mechanical Technician oversees and coordinates mechanical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, while managing teams, schedules, budgets, and compliance with safety regulations.

responsibilities:
- Maintain safe work practices and inform others of hazardous conditions or practices within the project team.
- Design and implement mechanical solutions and process changes to improve manufacturing equipment capabilities.
- Manage activities to meet milestones and timelines for successful capacity additions.
- Solve mechanical and process issues through data analysis, experience, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Identify and manage spare parts, ensuring proper documentation and storage across multiple plant locations.
- Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
- Support training for operations workforce regarding equipment or operational changes.
- Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
- strong mechanical engineering skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work independently in a fast-paced project installation manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with PC software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- strong communication skills.
- Associate's degree.
- 2+ years in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment, start-up experience is a plus.
