A Fiber Optics Technician is needed for a technology company that designs and manufactures connectors and sensors for several industries, such as automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, and more, in the Middletown, PA area. The Fiber Optic Technician is responsible for assembling, terminating, and testing fiber optic cable assemblies, supporting prototype and NPI builds, and assisting in process development and improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

responsibilities:
- Termination of various standard fiber optic termini as well new termini designs.
- Support prototype product builds, test product builds, pre-release NPI builds.
- Mechanical Aptitude to safely & efficiently operate equipment (E-Stop/Soft Stop, identifying issues, clearing faults and acknowledging machines states.
- Assist in the estimation process step durations.
- Assist in setting-up new manufacturing processes.
- Suggest process changes to improve overall manufacturing efficiencies.
- Communication within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction.
- Soldering & PCBA Assembly skills for the following: Wire Harnesses, Connectors, Passive Components (Resistors, Capacitors, etc.), IC (Integrated Circuits).
- Use of Fiber Optic & Electronic Test Equipment: Optical Power Meters, IL/RL Test, Oscilloscope, DMM (Digital Multi Meter), Variable Power Supplies, Variable Attenuators, Optical & RF Switch.
- Good time management for handling multiple projects.
- Attention to detail (following BOMs, routers, and drawings/prints).
- Dexterity and motor skills for intricate and delicate tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preference 2 years of experience in a fiber optic manufacturing environment but not mandatory.
