Great Client is seeking a continuous improvement specialist to join their team on a temporary basis. This role will focus on waste analysis, monitoring and recording production activities across all areas of the plant while identifying and analyzing factors that impact production processes. The specialist will collaborate with all departments and programs, supporting the Continuous Improvement group and working closely with area supervisors to drive operational enhancements.

responsibilities:
- Observe production processes to establish accurate time standards for various job phases.
- Investigate opportunities to enhance product throughput, recovery, and quality.
- Analyze production workflows to identify and quantify waste (including materials, time, defects, and motion).
- Identify, document, and address operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Perform root cause analysis to resolve recurring inefficiencies.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with UAW rules during observations.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce process-related costs.
- Review and develop control standards for production processes.
- Continuously improve operational controls to add value to plant operations.
- Maintain and update process flowsheets for site operations.
- Prepare and generate reports summarizing plant performance.
- Analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks, propose solutions, and improve production quality and efficiency, while ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Provide support to Production Coordinators, Supervisors, Senior Engineers, Production Engineers, and Superintendents as needed.

- Ability to interpret, summarize, and communicate complex information effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
- High attention to detail, ensuring accurate and efficient task management.
- CAD experience is preferred
