A Production/Material Planner is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Bohemia, NY area. The Production/Material Planner is responsible for supply and demand planning, scheduling, and inventory management to ensure efficient production and customer service, while improving forecasting processes and business performance.

responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor production schedules and due dates.
- Plan and maintain sales forecasts and production orders.
- Develop work orders and ensure timely execution.
- Monitor customer requirements and maintain a level-loaded Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Utilize standard tools to manage short- and long-term SIOP capacity profiles.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance customer service and inventory turnover.
- Develop weekly and monthly sales estimates for assigned product lines.
- Maintain item master planning parameters for different replenishment strategies.
- Develop preliminary planning bills of materials.
- Coordinate prototype builds.
- Contribute to production readiness activities.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Experience in production/material planning and forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Basic understanding of bill of materials (BOM) and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Bachelor's Degree + 5 years of experience or
- Master's Degree + 3 years of experience or
- 9 years of experience without a degree.
