responsibilities:
- Perform moderately complex engineering and fieldwork, ensuring work orders meet requirements.
- Select cost-effective and safe project designs.
- Serve as a primary customer contact for new or modified electric/gas systems.
- Train and support less-experienced staff.
- Handle customer inquiries related to tariffs, extension rules, codes, and metering.
- Communicate work orders and train crew members.
- Plan and schedule work orders, including estimates, material lists, and sag calculations.
- Conduct fieldwork such as service sizing, load determination, staking, surveying, and securing licenses.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of documentation.
- Track and report work-related functions in GIS, work management, and mapping systems.
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and clarify work details for crews.
- Assist in scheduling work for field crews and contractors.
- Knowledge of construction, utility equipment, and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with gas/electric codes, OSHA, DOT, and safety regulations.
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, STORMS, and ArcFM preferred.
- strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in emergency response situations.
- Associate degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience.
