A Incident Investigator is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Port Arthur, TX area. This role is responsible for implementing the safety management program by investigating incidents, analyzing root causes, monitoring worker performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) practices.

responsibilities:
- Supports various ES&H disciplines to implement the company's ES&H program and ensure compliance with company standards, regulations, and contracts.
- Investigates and determines root causes, contributing factors, and corrective actions for complex ES&H incidents.
- Assists with incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares investigation reports.
- Coaches and supports field-level ES&H representatives in investigating and reporting minor safety events.
- Identifies and analyzes performance trends affecting safety using statistical analysis and process control for continuous improvement.
- Leads risk assessments, mitigation planning, and monitoring of ES&H issues.
- Maintains ES&H databases for incident events, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Prepares reports, communications, and documents for program execution and records retention.
- Conducts research on complex ES&H issues and provides regulatory interpretation and technical guidance.
- Recommends and implements process improvements to reduce hazards.
- Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and health programs.
- Supports and utilizes software systems and electronic tools for ES&H functions.
- Participates in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
- Provides support to both field and office ES&H personnel across all safety disciplines.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in ES&H, Management, or a related science/engineering discipline.
- OR 9-12 years of relevant work experience in place of a degree.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Root Cause Analysis Certification:
- Formal training and certification in Root Cause Analysis required.
- Preferred certifications: Tap Root, Apollo, Blue Dragon, or Six Sigma.
