In this role you will be responsible for the firmware development and maintenance for applications for medical device product systems.
1 year contract with possible extension!
Required:
- BS Electrical Engineering or related field
- minimum of 5 years experience using C/C++ for medical device- specifically for implants
- previous experience Neuromodulation, Neurostimulators, pacemakers, Defibrillators, Insulin Pumps, Cochlear Implants
- 10-15% ability to travel
- Must be local and be able to come onsite

responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize firmware solutions for medical devices.
- Work closely with hardware engineers to achieve seamless interaction between firmware and hardware.
- Apply knowledge of real-time operating systems and hardware-software interfaces in development.
- Contribute to new product development, modifications, and feature enhancements.
- Address software engineering issues at both subsystem and system levels.
- Develop and execute test protocols to verify software functionality and reliability.
- Create and update technical documentation, including design records, protocols, and reports.
- Delegate tasks to technicians, temporary staff, and project team members.
- Deliver projects and product improvements in line with corporate goals.
- Support intellectual property initiatives through invention disclosures and patent applications.
- Monitor advancements in competitive technologies and medical device developments.
- Assist in product launches, physician training, and post-market technical support.
- Manage relationships with vendors and consultants as necessary.
- Work with quality teams to maintain compliance with Quality System standards.
- Assist in addressing product complaints and safety concerns.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to facilitate pilot production of new products.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, FDA regulations, and quality system requirements.
