An Engineering Technician is needed for a technology company that designs and manufactures connectors and sensors for several industries, such as automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, and more, in the Hampton, VA area. This position is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and automation while troubleshooting technical issues and supporting daily production.

responsibilities:
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods and processes.
- Define operation sequences for fabricating parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
- Apply engineering principles to resolve technical issues with limited scope.
- Work with automated, semi-automated, and manual assembly equipment, including wave soldering processes.
- Lead process-related issue analysis using data-driven approaches.
- Support daily manufacturing operations and new process development.
- Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Exercise creativity, judgment, and initiative in problem-solving.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Pro-E (preferred).
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
- strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Associate degree in Engineering (recommended).
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience.
