A Systems Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Windsor Locks, CT area. This role will support the design, development, and validation of Dragonfly hardware by managing requirements, interfacing with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance for a future space exploration mission.

responsibilities:
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to gather and negotiate requirements, assumptions, and changes.
- Document and validate requirements while allocating and deriving lower-level requirements.
- Capture requirements traceability and rationale throughout the development life cycle.
- Manage requirements changes and document compliance and associated risks.
- strong leadership skills and ability to work independently or within an integrated product development (IPD) team.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong writing/math skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
- 8-20 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with hardware development programs (proposal, development, manufacture, verification).
- Experience with NASA-based requirements.
- Broad technical engineering knowledge related to space flight hardware design (mechanical, electrical, software, safety, materials, and verification requirements).
