Our client is seeking a CATIA Validation Engineer (DMU Focus) to join their team temporarily. In this role, you will manage the Digital Mockup (DMU) process. The CATIA Validation Engineer will ensure the quality and accuracy of 3D CAD models within CATIA, with a focus on Digital Mockup (DMU) processes. This role requires in-depth knowledge of CATIA V5 utilities (including model validation, clash detection, part renaming, and more) and must have experience with PLM tools (ENOVIA preferred). The engineer will support engineering changes, maintain model quality, collaborate on Data Exchange Agreements (DEA), and help automate workflows. responsibilities:
- Take ownership of defining and maintaining the DMU
- Work extensively in CATIA and serve as a Subject Matter Expert in utilizing its various utilities
- Collaborate with the design team with 3D digital mockups of products.
- Work with customers on Data Exchange Agreements (DEA) and approve updates.
- Ensure CAD model quality by checking for clashes, resolving issues, and maintaining accuracy.
- Participate in IPT (Integrated Product Team) and CCB (Change Control Board) meetings.
- Provide support, troubleshooting, and training on DMU processes.
- Work with IT and engineering teams to maintain and improve DMU tools and processes.
- Manage CAD conversions and data transfer between CAD systems and CATIA V5.
- Document and troubleshoot DMU/DPA issues, and collaborate with IT on improvements.
- Help create and model standard parts in 3D CATIA V5.
- Complete and submit DMU/DPA definitions, create standard hardware models, and support engineering changes
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, with 1-5 years of experience in Engineering, Drafting, or a similar field ( Alternatively, 3 additional years of experience can substitute for a degree)
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with CATIA V5
- At least 3 years of experience in similar role
- Must have experience working with Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) tools; ENOVIA preferred.
- Previous experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or similar industries
- Experience managing technical business processes, including coordination of updates to both internal and external customers
- Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Working knowledge of GD&T symbols and requirements.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to provide occasional late-night or weekend support
