A Procurement Agent is needed for a leader in power and automation technologies in the Bartlesville,OK area. The Procurement Agent manages procurement processes for high-priority and complex projects by negotiating supplier agreements, ensuring compliance, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement plans and schedules.
- Lead and coordinate project team efforts as required.
- Request supplier quotations and coordinate with technical/material management specialists to ensure communication of requirements.
- Assess suppliers' ability to meet strict schedules for complex technical products/services.
- Prepare bid tabulations and select the lowest qualified bid.
- Negotiate agreements with suppliers to obtain the best terms and conditions.
- Issue and manage purchase orders and supplements according to established policies.
- Negotiate and issue blanket/open purchase orders for repetitive requirements.
- Evaluate supplier performance and identify performance issues.
- Recommend alternative sources of supply when necessary to minimize problems.
- Requires strong analytical skills and understanding of drawings, specifications, contract law, and procurement procedures.
- Ability to respond quickly to unforeseen developments and initiate corrective actions.
- strong communication skills to lead teams, negotiate contracts, and enforce terms.
- Errors may lead to time loss, rework, or impact on customer relations.
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field with 5 to 8 years of experience.
- Alternatively, a special combination of education, experience, and demonstrated accomplishments.
