A Water Waste System Senior Mechanical Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Everett, WA area. The Senior Mechanical Systems Design Engineer responsible for designing and developing aircraft potable water and waste systems, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and optimized solutions.

responsibilities:
- Resolve design conflicts, material suitability, and coordination challenges.
- Coordinate project activities with engineering and operating units to ensure team collaboration.
- Define project objectives and contribute to developing comprehensive project designs.
- Review and approve design data and documentation throughout the technical maturity phases.
- Maintain design data and generate artifacts, reports, and design reviews to demonstrate compliance.
- Participate in professional organizations to stay updated on technical innovations.
- Knowledge of fluid power handling equipment, such as valves, pumps, blowers, and pressure vessels.
- Experience with ATA Chapter 38 Water and Waste systems and equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).
- Experience with tolerance stack-ups, fits, and clearances.
- Ability to provide engineered solutions for aircraft lavatory mechanical systems.
- Experience in developing qualification documents, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
- strong experience interfacing with customers, systems engineers, and program managers.
- Ability to ensure compliance and manage testing with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency with Siemens NX, Teamcenter PLM, and PCB layout tools.
- 3D modeling experience with NX, CATIA, or equivalent software.
- Experience with CFD and FEA simulation tools.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, processes, and finishes.
- Understanding of RTCA DO-160 qualification standards.
- Hands-on experience with assembly and troubleshooting.
- Experience with LabVIEW and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with commercial aircraft monuments or other interior products.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- With 5+ years of related experience or equivalent.
