A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for managing capacity additions, equipment installations, and debugging while ensuring timely project execution, collaborating with vendors, and supporting operations teams.

responsibilities:
- Ensure safe work practices and identify hazardous conditions.
- Design and implement mechanical solutions to enhance manufacturing equipment capability.
- Manage project activities to meet milestones and timelines for capacity additions.
- Resolve mechanical and process issues through data analysis and collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Manage spare part identification and ensure availability across multiple plant sites.
- Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
- Provide training for operations teams on equipment and operational changes.
- Quick learning of new technologies and processes.
- strong mechanical engineering and technical fundamentals.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Project leadership and financial management experience.
- Vendor and supplier management experience.
- CAD experience.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Associate's degree required.
- 2+ years of experience in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
