A Material Specialist is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Waterloo, IA area. This role focuses on planning and scheduling manufacturing and service parts, ensuring material availability, coordinating engineering changes, and supporting inventory accuracy while collaborating with various departments and utilizing MS Excel.

responsibilities:

Plans and schedules simple manufacturing processes with minimal capacity constraints

Manages production and service part scheduling

Ensures material availability using company's Production System (e.g., kanbans/triggers)

Coordinates and communicates engineering and material changes

Assists with workforce planning and general administrative duties

Supports inventory integrity and accuracy, including production and scrap reporting



Major Duties:

• Production Scheduling: Plans and schedules production parts and service parts

• Expediting: Facilitates production and purchased parts to avoid delays
  
  
  
  
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Works with other departments to obtain necessary parts

• Workforce Planning: Assists in planning manpower for production needs
  
  
  
  
• Administrative Support: Performs general office duties to support department operations
  
  
  
  
• Inventory Management: Helps maintain inventory accuracy, including scrap reporting
  
  

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in any business-related field

Experience:

• Manufacturing experience is a plus
