A Lab Technician is needed for a company that manufactures, sells, and markets non-alcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups in the Northampton, MA area. This position performs laboratory testing, quality assurance, and compliance monitoring of raw materials, packaging, and finished products to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.

responsibilities:
- Perform microbiological, chemical, sensory, and calibration tests on raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
- Conduct chemical analyses using instrumental methods to determine sample composition.
- Evaluate ingredients, products, and packaging materials using visual inspection and measurement techniques.
- Prepare and maintain lab equipment to ensure proper performance and calibration.
- Operate and maintain all lab testing instruments and create related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety policies, and procedures.
- Maintain records and audit equipment logs to verify calibration and external verification processes.
- Document operational parameters and manage data transactions to ensure traceability.
- Knowledge of quality cost analysis, inspection, corrective action planning, and customer satisfaction tracking.
- Understanding of company and regulatory standards to ensure compliance.
- Expertise in operating lab instruments, handling chemicals, and ensuring safe lab practices.
- Ability to measure instrument variation and apply statistical techniques to monitor and control processes.
- Proficiency in managing records and maintaining compliance with standards.
- Capability to identify and resolve process, system, and mechanical failures.
- Bachelor's degree related to the science fields not required but preferred.
- At least 3 years related experience, preferred.
