Global industrial belt fastener manufacturer within the Grand Rapids MI area is seeking a skilled Tool and Die Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. We are seeking candidates that have a minimum of 3 years of direct experience within tool and die design including fixtures, gages and progressive dies (forming, bending, piercing, coining, extrusions). Candidates must have current stamping tool and die engineering experience (medium thickness materials). A Bachelor's degree is preferred but will consider candidates that have an Associates within Engineering who are working towards a Bachelors. Company offers tuition assistance!

responsibilities:
- Designing high precision progressive stamping dies for low to high-volume production of complex tolerance products (generating flat blanks, develop strip layout, blanking, piercing, coining and forming station layout, detail component and assembly drawings).
- Work with CI team to optimize existing manufacturing processes for improved safety, quality, delivery and cost goals by utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Document & provide information as needed for important manufacturing decisions involving calculating production, labor and material costs and estimating future requirements by considering capability, capacity, cost, upstream and downstream processes and effects on total manufacturing system.
- Researching and recommend the purchase of new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment to improve operations.
- Analyze and plan work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance to ensure standards and address manufacturing issues
- Drive maintenance procedures, spare parts inventory etc. required to maximize production efficiency of production equipment and minimize their downtime.
- Design and manage fabrication and implementation of fixtures, tooling and gages required for new or improved manufacturing operations.
