Design Engineer for a global leader in mobility products and services based near Memphis, TN. This role specifically focuses on product specification, layout design, and weight calculations.

Required Qualifications:
- Trade School or Associate's Degree (Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred)
- Must have at least five (5) years of design and drafting experience
- understanding of bills of material, manufacturing and product structures
- Experience with Solidworks
- Experience using PLM/PDM software
- Solidworks Certification

responsibilities:
- Design, analyze, and validate parts of or whole elevator systems
- Development of high-level product requirements and specifically focuses on product specification, layout design, and weight calculations
- Implement engineering and manufacturing changes to automate Solidworks solid models via Confgit Engineering platform
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and data sheets
- Uses basic programming to configure elevator systems based on engineering documentation
- Test and debug automation content outputs from the design automation application
- Maintain/develop department owned templates, calculation sheets, and reference documents
- Assist in developing design validation models and configurations for new product development projects
