A Capital Project Inspector / Construction Inspector is needed for a leading water utility near Temple Hills, MD. The Capital Project Inspector will ensure construction projects comply with approved plans, safety standards, and company policies. This role involves inspecting construction activities, documenting progress, and assisting with project scope changes. The inspector must maintain a professional image and uphold company standards while working closely with contractors and stakeholders.
Candidates should have at least two years of experience in water distribution, wastewater collection, or related construction work. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required, along with the ability to obtain relevant certifications within the first year of employment. Proficiency in reading construction plans, basic mathematics, and computerized office tools is necessary. OSHA 30-hour certification and competent person training must be completed within six months of hire.

- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with project plans, safety regulations, and environmental standards

- Assist with project scope adjustments that may impact cost or schedule
- Conduct punch list inspections under supervision and communicate safety concerns to supervisors
- Maintain positive relationships with contractors, developers, and local agencies
