A Process Development Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Midland, NC area. The Process Development Engineer designs, optimizes, and implements manufacturing processes and equipment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

responsibilities:
- Design and develop processes and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities for new or existing products.
- Optimize existing manufacturing equipment to improve efficiency, accommodate new products, or reduce costs.
- Apply machine design principles and conduct experiments to validate equipment capabilities.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product and Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure safety, operational, and maintenance requirements are met.
- Lead equipment setup, debugging, and startup, providing training to engineers and technicians as needed.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, chemical, and electrical systems, directing teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Develop and modify equipment/process designs to improve product quality and optimize resource usage.
- Ensure updated documentation for all new or modified equipment and processes.
- Knowledge/experience in materials processing equipment.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Ability to design and carry out experiments.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Sound understanding of material properties and capabilities for use in machine design.
- Possess strong work ethic and attention to detail with excellent organizational skill.
- BS Minimum in engineering/science.
- 3+ Years of experience.
