Large utility is looking for a Planner in Grand Rapids, MI. A Supply Chain Planner ensures efficient and cost-effective procurement and management of materials by monitoring inventories, analyzing supply methods, and implementing process improvements to meet company objectives. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months and very likely to extend and become a long term opportunity!

responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage company inventories to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Analyze and track the performance of current supply methods.
- Identify and implement improvements to supply chain processes.
- Recommend changes such as relocating warehouses, altering suppliers, or modifying transportation methods.
- Address supply emergencies by securing necessary materials to meet production deadlines.
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Relevant certifications like APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are often preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field.
- A master's degree in business administration may be advantageous for advancement to senior roles.
- 2-5 years of experience in the supply chain field.
