Operations Technician position for immediate contract to hire role in the Northern Las Vegas area. This role will be about 6 months before converting to full time employment.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced installation technician that enjoys using their hands, using their mechanical skills in an ever-changing working environment with a great pace.
The right person for this role should have at least 2 years of experience as a technician in a satellite communications type environment with working knowledge of TCP/IP.
Minimum of an Associate's level of education along with the adaptability to thrive in a very dynamic environment.

responsibilities:
- Operate within a highly complex communications network, ensuring 99.99% system uptime with zero defects as a key team member.
- Engage in system monitoring, routine preventive maintenance, customer issue tracking, and network problem resolution for all networking aspects essential to backend systems.
- Handle system administration, network monitoring/management, new buildouts, network changes/maintenance, IP and system infrastructure upkeep.
- Diagnose technical problems, identify root causes, and develop procedural and technical recommendations for improvement.
- Plan and manage the implementation of new products into the production environment.
- Monitor system limitations to optimize capacity and efficiency.
- Conduct equipment-level capacity planning and network performance activities.
- Maintain inventory and configuration management records, including software releases, patches, and hardware changes.
- Ensure compliance with Data Center Standards, Service Management Quality Program, and ITIL standards.
- Manage escalation and emergency response requests in a 24/7/365 environment, with occasional work during maintenance windows outside of normal working hours.
- Oversee power, HVAC, fire detection/suppression, and local security and monitoring systems.
- Proactively identify issues, create tickets to capture all details accurately, follow documented escalation procedures, use the notification system to communicate issues to customer service and upper management, and troubleshoot events promptly.
- Adapt to evolving responsibilities and duties, emphasizing communication, flexibility, and adaptability.
