An Engineer is needed for a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, whose areas of business include pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare products, agricultural chemicals, seeds and biotechnology products in the Luling, LA area. This role is responsible for delivering safe, code-compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions for capital projects, including design, analysis, and coordination.

responsibilities:
- Utilize and follow departmental design and drafting standards.
- Understand project scope, specs, and criteria before starting tasks.
- Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies for efficient solutions.
- Create estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
- Prepare detailed design calculations and sketches.
- Design with material efficiency and constructability in mind.
- Check accuracy and compliance of others' calculations and drawings.
- Assist drafters in resolving layout and detailing issues.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure project information flow.
- Assemble scopes, drawings, and specs into procurement-ready packages.
- Review vendor and interdisciplinary drawings for civil/structural input.
- Develop construction specifications.
- Proficient in IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI standards.
- Skilled with civil/structural analysis software (Staad Pro preferred).
- strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates leadership, ethical judgment, and safety-first mindset.
- Results-driven, motivated, and committed to continuous learning.
- BS/MS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
- 10+ years in civil/structural engineering within chemical/refinery settings.
- PE license in Structural Engineering (Louisiana required).
