An Electrical Engineer is needed for a utility holding company in the Eau Claire, WI area. This role ensures the design, testing, and reliable operation of electric distribution systems, while managing emergency response, system monitoring, workload coordination, and customer interactions to maintain safety, performance, and service continuity.

responsibilities:
- Design, model, develop, and test machines, structures, or systems.
- Develop functional requirements and apply standard engineering principles.
- Create simulations and prototypes to test design performance.
- Design and test components and integrate them into final products.
- Monitor product quality and process efficiency.
- Assess outages, develop and implement restoration plans, document processes, and identify improvement areas.
- Use EMS, DMS, SCADA, DDS, and other tools to monitor the system and address service issues.
- Prioritize and dispatch outage/emergency requests and assign work to field personnel.
- Knowledge of electric distribution system design, operations, and performance.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, handle emergencies, and work overtime.
- strong verbal, communication, and computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- 4-year engineering degree + 3 years electric utility distribution experience.
- 2 years post-secondary in electricity + 5 years electric utility ops, or
- Minimum of 7 years combined education and experience in electric distribution.
