A Contract Manager is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. This job leads complex contract negotiations and administration, provides legal and strategic guidance, and drives process improvements while mentoring junior staff.

responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Draft, generate, interpret, and manage large, sensitive, and complex contract documents and proposals.
- Ensure contract documents align with internal and external customer requirements and timelines.
- Conduct proposal preparation, negotiation, and administration activities per company policy and legal guidelines.
- Manage contracts to ensure compliance with negotiated terms and government cost control standards.
- Prepare reports and contract analysis for leadership review.
- Review and oversee junior team members' work for accuracy and alignment with business goals.
- Serve as a point of contact on legal issues related to contracts, in coordination with the Office of General Counsel.
- Create and execute proposals and contract agreements.
- Provide legal advice on warranties and contract terms as needed.
- Prepare and manage legal documentation for negotiations and contract relationships.
- Maintain accurate and historical legal records related to contracts.
- Advise on Data Rights and Intellectual Property matters, collaborating with the IP team as needed.
- Lead and manage projects of varying complexity and size.
- Bachelor's degree + 7 years of relevant experience, or
- Advanced degree + 5 years of relevant experience, or
- No degree + 11 years of relevant experience.
